Your story lives alongside your CV now. It’s on your LinkedIn headline, your voice notes, your side projects, your choices. You might still report to a manager—but you report to an audience, too. And that audience—colleagues, clients, future employers—pays attention to more than what you do. They watch how you do it.

Today’s workforce trends show us: independence is no longer just about autonomy—it’s a platform for visibility. And that visibility is a new kind of power.

So what does that mean for leaders?

It means empowerment isn’t about giving freedom—it’s about guiding influence. Great leaders now build teams that are not only skilled, but seen. They encourage people to tell their story, share their knowledge, and step into spaces where others can learn from them.

This month, we're exploring how influence has evolved—and how modern leaders can empower people to use it.

Your Influence Audit

You don’t need a manager’s title to have influence. You already have it. The question is—how are you using it?

1. What do people turn to me for?

Think about your colleagues, clients, even friends.
Do they come to you for clarity? For calm in chaos? For energy? For big-picture thinking?

Write down the top 2–3 things people consistently associate with you.

2. What do I want to be known for?

Beyond your job title—what's the reputation you’re building?
In meetings, on LinkedIn, in how you handle stress—what message are you sending?

Note one gap between what you want and what’s currently showing up.

3. What’s one way I can use my influence more intentionally this month?

Influence grows when it’s shared.
Can you mentor someone? Share an insight online? Speak up where you usually hold back?

Choose one real action—and put it in your calendar.

Sharing helps with accountability - but truly it is to your own self you must answer.
